Buy unfinished pre-made butcher block table tops!

Posted on June 1st, 2010 by admin

On the other hand if you have decided to make it yourself, here you will find how to do it. First you will need to have one inch by two inch strips of wood to begin with making sure that you take either the end grain or the side grain to start work on. Both ways give strength to the wood.

To make your own, take your butcher block and cut it into one by two inch pieces that are cut about one half inch longer than what the actual table length is going to be. These pieces all need to be glued together along the two inch side which will make the side grain will show up in one inch pieces. The amount of strips that you will need will depend upon the actual size of the table. So if your table is say two feet by four feet you would need overall 32 pieces.

The strips are cut and it is ready to be glued. When gluing make sure that you use some very good and strong wood glue. Glue all the pieces together and then make sure they are clamped to hold them in position and then let dry. After you are sure that it is dry take some fine sandpaper and lightly sand off the areas that might have some excess glue.

The next thing you will do is to take a table saw cut off one fourth of an inch off the ends from the long end of the table. This would be the side where all the different ends are and not the side that only has one piece. By doing this, you will be able to even out your table top.
Here you can have a look of Butcher Block information.

Making Wine For The Times

Wine Making Recipes: Whenever I make wine I try to make it for a specific purpose. For example a lot of the wine that I make is focused on dinner. I try to make wine that I know will be a great table wine that can be reliably served with a wide variety of dishes. That is not the only thing I try to craft wine for however. Some of the wine that I make is specifically focused on being a wine that you can just sit back and drink with friends on the weekend. Other wine that I make will be focused on specific times of the year like the summer time or the Christmas season.

Posted on May 25th, 2010 by admin

Not all of us get to turn our pooches into celeb dogs like Rachael Ray Show beloved pit bull “Isaboo”, but they are stars in our own hearts. It’s well known that Ms. Ray’s culinary finesse reaches into the realm of gourmet doggy delights but she also warns us that not all people foods are safe for our canine companions. There are certain foods that may be gourmet to us but they are deadly to our dogs.

Oh boy, do we know how hard it is to resist those adorable brown puppy eyes when they peer at us imploringly while we munch our lunch or dive into our just desserts. Our dogs only want to be part of the people action and feel confident they are part of the family, right?

The following list is provided in part on Ms. Ray’s website and the remainder can be found on the website for the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center:

How do you cook a turkey?

Posted on May 25th, 2010 by admin

In my opinion the best way to cook a turkey is with an electric turkey fryer. You can use an outdoor propane one, and I know they are a lot faster to get back up to temperature after putting the turkey in, but for me then the safety of an electric version with a thermostat on far outweighs that little inconvenience. Another advantage is that you have the unit inside the house, up high on the sideboard, with an outdoor one it is often on the ground where running kids can knock it over. Of course you will have to put up with the smell of the cooking if you use your electric one indoors, but you could take it outside if you want to, just make sure it isn’t going to rain first!

The iPod Gizmo is Getting another Year Older

Posted on May 19th, 2010 by admin

Unveiled in Jan 2001, the handheld audio device went on to sell over 151 million units globally as of April 2008. The ipod has also been a serious force in the surging popularity of Apple computers because consumers, very pleased with their apple ipods, frequently look to Apple company for a similar satisfaction using their pcs. Like the Macintosh computers, ipods are incredibly user friendly. Through the years the iPod has undergone numerous updates. Presently the available versions would be the iPod Classic, Touch, Nano, and Shuffle. The Traditional and New ipod nano versions both offer video clip and photo playback capabilities, while the Touch, along with video and audio playback, provides a chance to access the world wide web as well. The Shuffle may be the budget model of iPod, which is a smaller sized, cheaper alternative to the more popular versions. Apple has also released the iphone which has quickly become one of their most popular products.

Thanks to the massive success of the apple ipod and iphone, iTunes is by far the most successful media player around today. All Mac computers come with iTunes included and it is also readily available for free download for both Mac and PC on Apple’s website. Whilst there are alternatives to iTunes, ipod and iphone is best suited when combined with the iTunes interface as the two systems were developed to operate together. With iTunes people can import, organize, and download their music so that they can listen to it on their apple ipods or through i-tunes on their computers. The iTunes store is becoming hugely popular as it enables people to select from a huge variety of music, movies, television shows, as well as games for use on their apple ipods. Consumers can test their music before they purchase it and are given recommendations to similar music that they might enjoy.

The huge success of the iPod and iPhone is clearly down to fantastic advertising campaign implemented by apple. The most known adverts for the ipod feature silhouetted characters wearing the distinct white earbuds and holding their ipods. This, coupled with contemporary pallettes and well placed music has greatly increased the profile of the ipod device. In a fairly short period of time ipod and iphone has greatly improved when it comes to capability, toughness, and look. When originally released in 2001 the very first era of the Classic design was available in five and ten gb sizes with a 10 hour battery. These were only able to play music at that time. 6 years later the 6th generation iPod was launched in 80, a hundred and twenty, and 160 GB sizes. These new ipods are able to play music and films, show pictures, and have games and other helpful applications. The battery life on the new models more than triple that of the original apple ipods.

Whilst other media devices are available, such as Microsoft’s Zune, none of them have come close to hitting the popularity of the ipod device. The iPod has become ingrained in popular culture through it’s advertisements and widespread popularity. It’s also seen by many has the key reason why Apple and it’s Mac pc computers have become extremely prosperous and also the forerunners in cutting edge technologies.

Need to Restaurant Get A Internet sites

Posted on May 19th, 2010 by admin

It’s my opinion that any commercial could reward due to possessing a website. I have worked by means of the net marketing for numerous years, and I’ve seen that people feel like a enterprise has “validity” when they have a website. I don’t do this commercially, on the other hand it is a passion and hobby of mine. I have created many internet sites.Maintain it simple is an adage that works well here. People require to only know the vital info about your company. IE: Cuisine, address, contact info, reviews, etc. There are numerous methods to promote yourself on the net. One example is the last restaurant that I owned. So, in summary, Yes, in my experience, a website is essential, nonetheless, it does not need to price an arm and a leg!

Coffee In The Morning

Posted on May 18th, 2010 by admin

I look forward to the smell, the taste and the ritual of drinking coffee from the moment I get up in the morning. By the look of the lines at Starbucks, Peets and just about any morning coffee shop, there are many of souls who feel as I do. I do not frequently have spare time to wait in line, nor am willing to spend the cash. So I got a hold of of those single serve coffee makers and it is the answer to all my coffee questions. All I really drink is one cup to start the day and while I get ready to launch the day. It is a no brainer to clean up as well. Not much to wash. In addition, I’m not pouring out all the wasted coffee| that I was not able to drink. I’m a huge fan.

Certainly you must have a very good understanding of how wine is developed from a chemical standpoint. You must understand how the different facets of the recipes will interact with one another … But making great wine, just like cooking a great meal is just as much art as it is science. There is a certain kind of creative thinking mind that is able to come up with the best recipes to that make the best wine. I would call art as much as science … Wine Making Recipes
