Warbringer (live) – new song: Living in a Whirlwind – SCION ROCK FEST 2009

Posted on February 20th, 2010 by admin

Warbringer performing “Living in a Whirlwind” live on February 28, 2009 at the Scion Rock Fest at The Masquerade (Heaven), Atlanta, Georgia.

Sponsored by Scion and Vice, and set at the metalest venue in Atlanta (The Masquerade) on the metalest day of the metalest month of the year (Feb. 28, obviously), the Scion Rock Fest will bring together metal heavyweights from as far away as Japan and Norway. The festival will feature a who’s who line-up that includes Neurosis, Boris, 1349, Cryptopsy, Torche, Baroness, Wolves in the Throne Room, Krallice, Harvey Milk, the hometown heroes of Mastodon, and many more. Dear Sharon Osbourne, if you want Ozzfest to be successful again, start putting together line-ups like this one. Oh, and the best part about the festival? It’s absolutely, positively, 100% free.

  3. bisquik3006 Says:

    Or should I say …
Or should I say TRUE metal.

  4. bisquik3006 Says:

    Just saw these boys …
Just saw these boys for my first time opening up for Megadeth in KC. awesome! Sounds like 80’s style metal is making a comeback.

    You know what’s …
You know what’s worse? When two concerts are playing on 2 of the same days. Here’s what I mean:

Municipal Waste played on a Thursday, and a Friday.

Dethklok (as well as Mastodon) played on a Thursday and a Friday.

We were able to go to both, but we had to go to Dethklok on Thursday and Municipal Waste on Friday. Unfortunately, my mom got tickets for Dethklok’s Friday showing, so we couldn’t see Municipal Waste. As for the whole Opeth thing, I’ve seen them thrice, so I wouldn’t care so much.

  6. Smc316 Says:

    Yeah, I had that …
Yeah, I had that confusion once. Once it was Paganfest on Friday and Opeth on saturday(At the same venue) I had tickets to both but I when I went I thought the bands were playing on the day after/before and it totally confused me at first. Haha

Yeah, normally I can go on Tuesdays but my older brother who is my ride all the time had a college class that night so I couldn’t go.

    But if I could’ve, I totally would’ve.

  7. Bassbait Says:

    Ok,

    1.I don’t …
    Ok,

1.I don’t exactly remember any of the early bands names. I also am confusing the Warbringer show with the 3 inches of blood show that was just a few days later. I do know the bands that opened for 3IoB but not Warbringer.

Also, why can’t you go on tuesday? Is it because of school? If so, that sucks.

  8. Smc316 Says:

    Vader show: Did …
Vader show: Did S.W.A.A.T.S. play instead? Cause I know it was like every other show they switched back and forth, or whatever.

I wish I could’ve been to the BBB show here, but sadly it was a tuesday. :(

And that is sort of lame.

  9. Bassbait Says:

    I’ve seen them 3 …
I’ve seen them 3 times this year and every time they mentioned it after their shows.

Saw them with Kreator, Exodus, Belphegor, Epicurean (probably in may, don’t remember)

With Bonded By Blood, Exmortus, Kombat, and a few others (in october)

With Vader (I honestly don’t remember the rest of the names, but I remember being that Swashbuckle couldn’t play).

    Everytime they mentioned weed.

  10. Smc316 Says:

    I’ve seen …
I’ve seen warbringer four times this year and they’ve never said ANYTHING about weed. :O

Saw them with Soilwork, Darkane and Swallow The Sun in Feb,

With Kreator, Exodus, Belphegor and Epicurean in Apil.

With Obituary, Krisiun, The Berserker and Goatwhore in Sept.

And finally, with Vader, Decrepit Birth, Augury, The Amentia and Swashbuckle last month.

(The list is to prove that i’ve seen them, not to rub it in)

  11. Bassbait Says:

    I agree, but to …
I agree, but to some extent so is everybody. I mean it’s kind of annoying that EVERY show warbringer has to announce that they smoke weed.

  12. Smc316 Says:

    1. 90’s Dream …
    1. 90’s Dream Theater>>Opeth(Very close though)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>00’s Dream Theater

Bonded by Blood, Pleasures of the Flesh, Fabulous Disaster, Impact is Imminent are all classics.

Tempo of the Damned, Shovel Headed, Atrocity Exhibition, Let There Be Blood are all good, but much more generic and incomparable.

Force of Habit is a awesome grunge album, but it isn’t metal – at all.

I didn’t mean Exodus albums suck now, but live they are very douchebaggish. (Saw them with Kreator in April)

  13. Bassbait Says:

    1.Even though I see …
1.Even though I see your point, I like Opeth better.

2.Exodus did suck during those years, but ever since Tempo of the Damned they’ve been a force to reckon with… In fact Tempo might be better than Bonded By Blood.

  14. Smc316 Says:

    Warbringer and …
Warbringer and Mantic are totally different styles and you know that.

It’s like trying to compare Opeth and Dream Theater, while they are both Progressive Metal they are totally different but both are still just as good as each other.

Also, Exodus has sucked ever since their first album After Impact Is Imminent.

  15. Bassbait Says:

    Not true. I saw …
Not true. I saw Mantic Ritual live, and they were cool and all, but Warbringer blew them away. Also, Exodus was the headliner for the Mantic Ritual show, so MR didn’t even stand a CHANCE.

Evile’s 2nd album just shows how they’ve matured. And they have, into a great thrash metal band.
    I love Matts new voice.
