Aneurysm – Nirvana (HD)(Live) Hollywood Rock Fest 1993

Posted on February 24th, 2010 by admin

Hollywood Rock was a music festival which took place in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, from 1988 to 1996. The festival was sponsored and organised by the Souza Cruz tobacco company, owners of the Hollywood cigarette brand. After a law was passed by the Senate of Brazil prohibiting tobacco and alcohol companies from sponsoring cultural and sporting events, the festival was cancelled. The festival did not happen in 1989 or 1991 (the latter because of Rock in Rio 2 happening at around the same time in Rio de Janeiro).
The fourth edition of Hollywood Rock is regarded as the best of all 7 years. It was definitely the most publicised with Grunge music going full blast around the world, renowned bands such as Nirvana, Alice in Chains and L7 headlined the festival, along with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Simply Red. Nirvana’s controversial performances both in São Paulo and Rio generated much discussion amongst fans and the media. Kurt Cobain, appearing very intoxicated, spat on the lenses of all TV cameras placed around the stage (the concert was being broadcasted live by Globo TV), and attempted to destroy stage props and equipment. Some footage from the concert in Rio de Janeiro can be seen on Nirvana’s Live! Tonight! Sold Out!! home video. Due to the high demand for tickets, the venue for the São Paulo concerts was changed back to the larger Morumbi stadium.
The Brazilian bands: Defalla, Biquíni Cavadão, Dr. Sin, Engenheiros do Hawaii and Midnight Blues Band. In “High Definition”. Enjoy

Agree with you, really think that nirvana is underated.. a great band who really made way for other bands. it really disturbes me that a lot of people is like “nirvana who?”

Thom Yorke, glad you happened to mention him this day, cus I’m right now taking my time gettin’ in to radiohead as a matter of fact :) I’ve already listened to OK computer (of course, one of best albums ever) and now I’m learning their earlier work and then I’ll get into the stuff after kid a. Radiohead is amazing.
Bob is greater than anyone… you should never really try to be like him. Jack isn’t either, he makes new music, blues sometimes maybe but so did people before Bob.

    Jack White is just …
Jack White is just a Bob Dylan Wannabe…

If there’s anyone that has changed music in the past 10 years it’s Thom Yorke.

Songs like “Sail To The Moon” , “How To Dissapear Completley” , “Street Spirit” were created straight from his imagination.

The Influences he had never were really brought out in his music, and it’s by far the best ambient rock since Pink Floyd.

He is very overlooked for his Singing and Songwriting that’s for sure.

    One might consider …
One might consider Cobain the last true rock legend. No one after him have changed music the way he did. Although I believe that talents such as Jack White are legends that play today. But Kurt truly was a genius and whatever people say about him, he’ll always be grunge to the bone.

  15. Greendore Says:

    How people say …
How people say Nirvana is over rated is beyond me, Heres an example of an over rated band, Artic Monkeys, they had all the music magazines saying there the next best thing before they even signed onto a label, NME the prime of example of doing this, now Nirvana, they had no magazine hype, they just went in, recorded and changed the way music is today.

    but, absolutely …
but, absolutely this band made a real new-wave and that thing brings people’s mind into the Rock. and they show 10 years after in their period. I think this band should be much bigger than others, If they were still alive.

  23. ghkdtjdguq1 Says:

    Aneurysm… I had …
Aneurysm… I had an episode on this song. My friend don’t know Nirvana. I listened to the CD player, at that time I listen to Aneurysm. My friend listen to it and repeat the “Beat Out, Beat Out”. Year I think every Nirvana song has a hook. this band loved by youth and oldman. really broad and huge band. somebody say this band is overrated but 95% of my man said that Nirvana is underrated. that means this band’s careers are short we can’t rank them anymore.
