My husband said he’d be home two hours ago…?
Posted on April 7th, 2010 by admin
My husband called at 11 to say he’d be home in an hour. He’s on his way home from Rockfest in St. Helens, OR.
It’s past 2 am now. I’m worried, he doesn’t have his cell phone. Should I call the state patrol? What should I do? It’s been three hours and I cannot sleep.
Thanks, everybody, he’s home. Very nice, all encouraging answers. It was concert traffic, you were right, Aeglaeca–and those who agreed with him. Sorry, it is just so out of character.
just chill… maybe he’s stuck in a traffic jam or smth…

aww hun, just wait a bit more to see if he shows, he must be on his way, i know if u call the cops they won’t be able to help much b/c in order to file a missing person’s claim that person has to be missing for atleast 24 hrs first!

I get how stressful this can be, it’s late and dark and your husband is god knows where
if the weather is questionable where he is driving, if he could have taken a wrong turn and gotten lost (such as if he is not used to driving this route), or if the car he is driving is not 100% reliable (like if it is likely to break down or get a flat tire) then I would definitely call state patrol and just ask them to keep a look out for his car
tell them the make and model, and license plate number if you know it, also tell them your husband’s name and that you just want to make sure he isn’t broke down on the side of the road so late at night
I hope that he is ok, try to relax and stay calm until morning at least
then if he still isn’t home at say 5-6 am you might want to consider calling hospitals and jails along the route to see if maybe he got into an accident or arrested for anything (not that he’s the type to get arrested but you can’t be too safe when looking for a person whose gone missing)
its true that you can’t file a missing person’s report until after 48 hours -however- that doesn’t meant that you can’t keep an open line of communication with the police, I’d start getting them involved after 24 hours, asking their advice and etc
good luck, may it just turn out to be something simple, like a flat tire
edit:
glad to hear that he’s home safe and sound
I hadn’t considered traffic since it was so late at night (not like its rush hour when there’d be alot of people out) but then again I hadn’t considered that a concert would let out so late
anywho, glad he’s home safe, have a good one
