Tears Of The Dragon (B. Dickinson)

Bruce Dickinson – Vocals

Roy Z – Guitar
Eddie Casillas – Bass guitar
David Ingraham – Drums

[Lyrics]

For too long now
There were secrets in my mind
For too long now
There were things I should have said
In the darkness
I was stumbling for the door
To find a reason
To find the time, the place, the hour

Waiting for the winter sun
And the cold light of day
The misty ghost of childhood fears
The pressure is building
And I can’t stay away

I throw myself into the sea
Release the wave
Let it wash over me
To face the fear
I once believed
The tears of the dragon
For you and for me

Where I was
I had wings that couldn’t fly
Where I was
I had tears I couldn’t cry

My emotions
Frozen in an icy lake
I couldn’t feel them
Until the ice began to break

I have no power over this
You know I’m afraid
The walls I built are crumbling
The water is moving
I’m slipping away

I throw myself into the sea
Release the wave
Let it wash over me
To face the fear
I once believed
The tears of the dragon
For you and for me

Slowly I awake
Slowly I rise
The walls I built are crumbling
The water is moving
I’m slipping away

I throw myself into the sea
Release the wave
Let it wash over me
To face the fear
I once believed
The tears of the dragon
For you and for me…

”Tears Of The Dragon” is a song from Bruce Dickinson’s second solo album, Balls to Picasso, and it was released in 1994.

”Balls to Picasso” is a Hard rock album released in 1994 and is the second effort in Bruce Dickinson’s solo career. The ballad “Tears of the Dragon” stayed for many months on top the of charts in countries like Brazil where Dickinson has a large fanbase.
This record marked the beginning of Dickinson’s collaborations with Roy Z, who would work on many of Dickinson’s later albums including Accident of Birth, The Chemical Wedding and Tyranny of Souls. Stylistically it departs from Tattooed Millionaire but is still more traditional-sounding than the follow-up album Skunkworks released in 1996. Later, Dickinson said that he and Roy Z were talked into making the album less heavy than it should have been. (Source: Wikipedia)

To rise and become of use
A relentless motion of tongue
Deflower the nature of light
Deflower the nature of water
Realize, reflect, and refract leagues and layers grow deeper
Like roots into the ocean
The wellspring is nailed to a chain
A lost and binding dream
Carving a reckless control
Of the knives hanging clean
From a wild and innocent grace
Stars black the blood of silence
The lightning shears the heart

Rock Fest 2009 Day 1 Gig Log

Posted on March 31st, 2010 by admin

So far the most I’ve done for lighting production for a live band event. I wish I had more lighting like, pars and scanners. However I think I can do some neat programs with what I have. I also wish my stage layout was a little different, but I’m working with what I have. Enjoy!
